Frequently asked questions

Introduction

We began running live training events in 2010 and since that time have delivered over 120 days, welcoming over 12,000 delegates. But we appreciate that not everyone can make it to the live training, perhaps because the dates or locations don’t work for you.

Our current offering of online courses include a number of live training days that we no longer run. However we are also developing online training that will better meet the needs of survivors and professionals who cannot attend live events, or those wishing to develop their skills further than the format of the live days allows.

We will continue to run live events during 2018 and beyond, but alongside this, and at times interweaving with it, we are also developing three streams of online training:

  • a year-long ‘Trauma-Informed Practice’ course
  • a ‘Survivors’ Survival Guide’
  • and a modular, pick-n-mix stream of recordings from previous live days.

Online Training

Our online training is easy to use. Here is a short video showing the basics of how it works.

WHO IS THE SPEAKER?

All of our training days are delivered by Carolyn Spring, You can find out more here.

DO I NEED TO ATTEND YOUR TRAINING DAYS IN A CERTAIN ORDER?

No. Each training day is a standalone event and covers different material, all of which build on each other. It would be preferable to complete the online training ‘Dissociation and DID: The Fundamentals’ before attending ‘Working with Dissociative Disorders in Clinical Practice’, but not essential.

CAN I HAVE A RECEIPT FOR MY BOOKING?

Yes. You will receive a receipt from our payment provider, and also a booking confirmation email which can act as a receipt. Get in touch if you need any further assistance.

MY COMPANY/ORGANISATION IS PAYING, CAN YOU INVOICE US?

Please click the following link and fill in the form to request an invoice.
If you work for the NHS it is likely that we’ll also need a purchase order number from your trust. Email these details through to us and we’ll get you booked on.

WHERE DO YOU RUN TRAINING?

You can find all of our upcoming locations here. These vary each year.

WHAT WILL THE DAY BE LIKE?

Our training days are delivered lecture-style with excellent visuals and all original content. There are opportunities throughout the day to break into buzz groups for brief discussion if you wish to, but it is also entirely acceptable to work alone during these 8 minute breaks. Delegates receive an extensive pack including the relevant book for each course, and a CPD certificate for 6 hours. Our training days usually attract audiences of 60-120 people depending on the venue and local demand. There is an optional Q&A usually for the last half an hour of the day.

WHAT ARE THE TIMINGS FOR THE DAY?

Registration and refreshments start at 9.30am. We kick off promptly at 10.00. There are morning and afternoon breaks and lunch usually runs between 1.30pm and 2.15 pm. There is usually an optional Q&A for at least the last half an hour, and the day will end by 5.00pm.

DO YOU PROVIDE LUNCH?

As we are such a small team and to keep costs down, lunch is not provided. Drinks and biscuits are supplied throughout the day and you’re welcome to bring a packed lunch. Lunchtime usually runs for 45 minutes from 1.15 pm to 2.00 pm.

DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS?

We are able to offer concessions for people on a low income and students. Please enquire before booking by filling out and submitting our concession form, found here. We also offer discounts to groups of 4 or more attending a training day. Please call us to discuss your requirements on 01480 878409.
